Will I be charged sales tax on my purchases?
State sales tax will be collected on all in-state purchases unless a valid Louisiana resale certificate Form R-1064 has been provided to Wines Unlimited. Local sales tax will be collected on all purchases from customers located within the City of New Orleans unless a City of New Orleans Resale Certificate has been provided to Wines Unlimited.
Why do I need to provide resale certificates?
It’s the law. Louisiana Department of Revenue requires state sales tax to be collected on items purchased by customers unless those customers have provided a valid Louisiana resale certificate Form R-1064. Likewise, the City of New Orleans requires dealers purchasing items for resale to provide their vendor with a City of New Orleans Resale Certificate to certify the items they purchase are for resale and to show that the dealer should not be charged city sales tax. Therefore, Wines Unlimited must collect sales tax if resale certificates have not been provided.
Why don’t all vendors ask for resale certificates?
We can’t answer for other vendors. One reason might be that vendors must collect sales tax from customers that physically located in the same parish as the vendor. We are located in Orleans Parish so if our customer’s business is located in Orleans Parish we must collect Orleans Parish sales tax (unless the customer provides Wines Unlimited with a valid Orleans Parish resale certificate).
Can I receive a refund of sales taxes paid I on previous orders if I provide a resale certificate(s) to Wines Unlimited?
If you choose to pay sales tax rather than obtaining a valid resale certificate(s) and providing it to Wines Unlimited, all taxes collected will be given to the appropriate taxing authority and, therefore, will not be available for a refund from Wines Unlimited under any circumstances.

No, there is no fee or cost.
What are Wines Unlimited’s payment terms?
Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control require payment on all purchases of alcoholic beverages to be made within 15 days of delivery (R.S. 26:148). Therefore, Wines Unlimited offers net 15 days, as well as cash on delivery.
